Snow Queen Winter Management, one of Greater Vancouver’s largest winter service providers, seeks casual, on-call Dispatch Software Logistics Operators to join our operations team. This position is perfect for engineering and computer science students or those who want to make extra money working through the winter.

Snow Queen strives to create a positive and fun atmosphere in a fast-moving environment while providing comfort perks such as meals & massages while working. An ideal candidate will be able to handle a high-pressure environment with focus, have the mental agility to multitask, and build logistical workflows on the fly.

You will develop a strategic plan through our software to ensure optimum efficiency when the snow falls. Clear and concise communication in English between you, Logistics Operator, snow-clearing teams on the ground, and operations is necessary. Ensuring teams on site are on track to meet critical timelines and have the operational support they require.

You will have paid training on our proprietary dispatch & management software.

Winter weather is unpredictable; the ideal candidate will have the ability to work weekly rotating day and night 12.5 hours shifts on-call. Snow may happen anytime, as such shifts may occur on weekdays, weekends, and holidays.

This is an on-site position at our operational headquarters in Port Coquitlam. A candidate is required to have a winter-ready vehicle of their own to travel to and from the office during snow storms and may be asked to travel to work sites if needed.

Compensation: $30/hr + Overtime

Duties Include:

Under the general supervision of a Logistics Supervisor and reporting to Snow Queen’s Operation Manager, a Dispatch Software Logistics Operator performs a variety of operational functions such as:

  • Using proprietary software to dispatch large teams.
  • Strategic planning for snow events.
  • Entering, maintaining & cross-referencing data.
  • Ensuring jobs are completed efficiently and to Snow Queen Standards.
  • On-the-spot problem-solving.
  • Delegating and directing the work of contractors.
  • Documenting pertinent information.
  • Handling incoming & outgoing phone calls.
