Current Openings: Ground Crew Coordinator

Snow Queen Winter Management, one of Vancouver’s largest winter service providers, is seeking Ground Crew Coordinators to join our team.

This seasonal contractor position provides a great opportunity for individuals looking for a dynamic position during the winter season. We are currently hiring 4 people for this position.

Things to note about this position are:

  • Hours will fluctuate weekly from 7 hours min. to roughly 50 hours when there is a weather event.
  • You must be available from 5:30PM – 7:30PM daily plus on-call 24/7 before, after, and during snow storms between Nov 1 and Mar 31.
  • On-call shifts are often overnight and can be over 12 hours.
  • Training is October 15th to the 18th during the day.
  • A candidate is required to have a winter-ready vehicle and a Class 5 license in order to get to and from the office during snow storms and to travel to our clients’ sites across the Lower Mainland as needed.

Rate: $25/hr

As a Ground Crew Coordinator, you will be directing and managing our snow clearing teams both from our office using our proprietary software and on-site as needed. This position reports directly to the Director of Operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Tactical & strategic planning
  • Calling and preparing ground crews for upcoming storms
  • Supporting teams on-site to ensure all operational duties are fulfilled
  • Problem solving to ensure success and reduce liability exposure
  • Using proprietary software to dispatch teams
  • Documenting & entering vital information into our software
  • Reviewing completed work and ensuring that standard operating procedure and timelines are followed
  • Handling ground crew communications during a snowstorm
  • Investigating misconduct and data discrepancies within the software
  • Assessing properties and service aerials for hazards, operational instructions, and requesting changes to service scope if necessary
  • Completing on-site assessments/inspections and directing crews on site if needed
  • Provide on-site snow clearing or salting if needed
